London brothers Foynez land on Hot Creations today, 21st August, with their new single ‘Bombreaker’, marking a big first outing on Jamie Jones’ long-running label.
The pair have been steadily building through releases on LTF Records, Deeperfect, PIV Club and Undergrowth, bringing together house, bass and funk with a clear eye on the club. ‘Bombreaker’ keeps that formula tight, rolling on warm low-end, bright chord stabs, crisp drums and a hip-hop-inspired vocal that gives the groove plenty of character.
There is a nice bit of history here too. Foynez have followed Hot Creations for years and once snuck into one of Jamie Jones’ Tobacco Dock parties while underage. Now they are releasing on the label. Not a bad full-circle moment.
Following recognition through ANTS’ Next Gen Competition, chart action and a growing run of headline shows, ‘Bombreaker’ feels like another proper step forward. Funky enough for the sunshine, heavy enough for a packed basement and built to move without making a fuss about it.
We’re premiering Foynez’s ‘Bombreaker’ today on Data Transmission.
