Music Summit Malta Makes Its Debut, Bringing Music and Technology’s Next Generation Together

Music Summit Malta will hold its first edition from 7th to 10th October 2026 at the Hard Rock Hotel in St Julian’s. The event brings together up to 150 attendees from across music, technology, investment and entrepreneurship. Organisers describe the four-day programme as combining panel discussions, networking and a series of pre- and after-parties held across Malta’s music scene.

The summit is positioned as a smaller alternative to traditional industry conferences and trade shows. Sessions focus on the technologies, business models and cultural shifts affecting how music is made, funded, distributed and experienced.

Confirmed speakers include Detroit techno artist Kenny Larkin, Italian-Canadian DJ and producer John Acquaviva and electronic music producer Robert Babicz. Also speaking are Musika Malta’s Jeanine Rodgers Scerri, 242 managing director James Cassar, entrepreneurs Yaw Asamani and Dan Tsu, Glitch Festival co-founder Kevin Ellul and 141 Records founder Luke “Funky Monkey”. The lineup also includes Tristan Perrin, founder of Maltese music platform Pulse, Maltese techno artist Human Safari, Dutch DJ and producer Christian Xerri, and Maltese DJs Acidulant and Yasmine Farrugia. Entrepreneurs Wesley Ellul, Orwell McGubbins and Victor Guell complete the speaker list.

The programme is organised across four sectors: Investment and Capital, Ecosystem and Policy, AI and Technology, and Media and Industry. In total, 45 speakers will take part, covering topics from music industry funding to the impact of AI, the role of policy and the changing relationship between music, media and audiences.

Organisations attending include Music Tech Europe, Ten87 Studios, SheSaidSo, MEIA, Musika Underground Malta and 141 Records. Technology and investment partners include ElevenLabs, Plus 8 Equity Partners, Best Nights VC and Amplitude Ventures.

Evening programming runs across four nights, produced with Maltese promoters Neolitika, Oracles and Big Ron’s Records. Wednesday opens with performances from Niko Jay and Melchior Sultana. Thursday features Owen Jay b2b Sean Rickett. Friday’s lineup includes Gabriella, John Acquaviva and Rob Acid, alongside Dafne, Sound Synthesis, Alias 1 and PHYNKS. Saturday closes the week with Luca Cordina b2b Norark, Mato and Victor Guell.

Aidan Somers, founder of Music Summit Malta and AISO Academy, said:

“The summit grew out of what we’ve been building through AISO Academy and the conversations we were already having with people working across music. There’s a lot happening in Malta, but there wasn’t really a space bringing together the wider music industry with technology, investment and entrepreneurship. We wanted to create something that felt useful – small enough that people can actually talk to each other, rather than just move between panels.”

AISO Academy, founded by Somers, is Malta’s music production and education academy. Music Summit Malta developed out of that work, connecting Malta’s music community with international artists, founders, investors and technology professionals.

General admission tickets cost €179. Startup tickets cost €279. Day passes are available for €97. Exhibitor packages start from €600 plus VAT. Early bird pricing ends on 14 September. Discounted places for students and emerging artists are available on request.
