His music has appeared on labels including Global Underground, Zamna, Eleatics, Einmusika, and IbogaTech. Through his label, Echoes Of Time, he continues to explore music centered on emotion, storytelling, and authenticity.
His latest release, ‘Withdraw,’  marks his return to Movement Recordings and his first solo release on the label. Across ‘Stimulations’ and ‘Withdraw’, Suiss moves toward a deeper and more hypnotic direction, with Weird Sounding Dude contributing a remix of ‘Stimulations’.
In this conversation, Aaron Suiss discusses life in Thailand, the musical shift behind ‘Withdraw’, his relationship with Progressive House, and what is taking shape next in the studio.
EG: Hi Aaron, welcome to Electronic Groove. It’s great to have you with us. How have you been, and how does life in Thailand feel these days?
Aaron Suiss: Hey, great to be back with you all. Life is good. I have been making lots of music and playing a bunch of shows here in Thailand. I live on a small island in the south, so things on the island are a bit slower and less hectic than city life. For me, that’s great.
EG: Your journey has taken you from Washington D.C. to Thailand, while your music has found a home across a genuinely international progressive and melodic house landscape. How has that change of environment influenced the way you hear and approach music?
Aaron Suiss: I grew up in DC surrounded by a lot of Hip Hop and Bass music, and since I have been in Thailand, my musical taste and also what I feel I like to listen to have changed. I am now more into organic sounds and more minimalistic-sounding music rather than industrial sounds and more “hectic” sounds. I think being surrounded by nature has influenced that quite a bit.

EG: You’ve now returned to Movement Recordings with ‘Withdraw’, your first solo EP on the label. What does this release represent for you at this point in your journey?
Aaron Suiss: Well, I have always been fond of Movement Recordings. Tash has been a friend for a while;  I made this EP about 6 months ago, and I felt immediately that it would be a good fit for the label. This release represents a change in my musical direction, going into a deeper and more hypnotic sound as you will soon hear with most of my upcoming releases.
EG: The two originals, ‘Stimulations’ and ‘Withdraw’, explore quite different sides of your sound, with the former leaning into driving progressive energy and the latter taking a deeper, more introspective route. Did you approach them as complementary pieces from the beginning?
Aaron Suiss: Initially, I made ‘Withdraw’ as the main track of the EP. I got very inspired, actually, by some recent tracks I was hearing (particularly from Brian Cid), and I felt it was time to take that inspiration and make something different. ‘Withdraw’ came, and then I felt I was not done telling the story. Afterwards, I used similar sounds and drums and made ‘Stimulations’. I felt they were a perfect fit for an EP.
EG: ‘Stimulations’ has that combination of muscular groove, expansive atmosphere, and melodic tension that can work equally well in a long progressive set or a larger festival environment. What was the initial idea or feeling that set the track in motion?
Aaron Suiss: As I previously mentioned, I got inspired by some new tunes I was hearing, and I felt the urge to create. I wanted to make something deep with a serious bass and groove but yet still psychedelic and hypnotic.

EG: ‘Withdraw’ feels more inward-looking, gradually revealing its layers rather than relying on an immediate impact. What do you enjoy about creating tracks that take their time to unfold?
Aaron Suiss: I really love to create tracks that progress and tell a story. They are actually a journey. I feel now that a lot of people are just after tension and release instead of actually listening to the music and letting it take you somewhere. I like to make longer tracks actually, that take time to unfold and bring you somewhere. I also have a lot to say.
EG: Weird Sounding Dude returns to Movement Recordings to reinterpret ‘Stimulations’, pushing it into a tougher direction. What did you think when you first heard his version, and what do you feel he brought to the track?
Aaron Suiss: I actually wouldn’t say tougher; for me, his remix was more on the classic progressive side and a bit lighter touch to the track. I really like what he did, and I like his music generally. He is a great producer, and I was happy to have him on the remix for this track.

EG: You’ve had support from artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Miss Monique and Tale Of Us, while releasing on labels with very different identities. How important is it for you to maintain a consistent artistic voice while moving through different corners of the progressive and melodic scene?
Aaron Suiss: Honestly, it is difficult sometimes because a lot of the labels or music I have been hearing is not at all what I like to create. I mean, I don’t want to drop names here, but the whole Melodic Techno scene, I feel, has been destroyed in a way. It is no longer that underground sound I fell in love with. It has become pop vocals on almost trance-like tracks. This is not everything; of course there is still some amazing stuff out there in that genre. For me, at the moment I am really liking what’s going on in the Progressive House genre. The music has really gotten cool and groovy, and I continue to find good records from many great prog labels. So with that being said, keeping my artistic voice is extremely important for me; otherwise, why am I doing this?
EG: You’ve spoken through your music about balancing emotional connection with dancefloor momentum. Has that balance become easier to understand with experience, or do you still find yourself searching for it with every new production?
Aaron Suiss: Yes, I would say with experience the balance becomes easier for sure. I think that when you actually unlock your sound, you know what to do. Of course I still get stuck, and creativity comes and goes, but generally I know what to do and what to make and what I want to give to the world or to the dancefloor, let’s say.

EG: With ‘Withdraw’ now marking another step in your evolution, what else is taking shape for you at the moment, both in the studio and beyond?
Aaron Suiss: Wow, I have so many new tracks, and I cannot wait to share them with the world. I am producing a lot these days and working with some cool software and hardware companies on different projects. I am now doing something with Plugin Boutique and also working closely with the owner of OXI Instruments (Occipital) on some new tunes. I also have a big release coming at the end of November. I won’t say the label yet, but it’s coming, and I cannot wait for that EP to drop.
EG: Thank you so much for your time. We wish you all the best with ‘Withdraw’ and everything ahead. Take care!
Aaron Suiss: All the best. Thank you
