Calibre, Blu Mar Ten and Adam F classics return to vinyl on Re:versal Records’ REV004

Some records deserve to be pulled back out of the archive. Re:versal Records’ REV004 brings together four drum & bass cuts from the Universal Music Group catalogue for a limited heavyweight vinyl pressing, with Calibre, Blu Mar Ten and Adam F all on one record.

The A-side pairs two Calibre remixes: his take on Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ ‘Garden’ and his rework of Bo Saris’ ‘She’s On Fire’. On the flip, Blu Mar Ten revisit Erykah Badu’s ‘On & On’, before Adam F’s ‘Circles’ brings the record home in its 7” version. For anyone who knows that unmistakable ‘Circles’ intro, its return to wax is reason enough to pay attention.

“Drum & bass completely changed what was possible with electronic production,” says Re:versal Records label manager Felix Lindsell. “These four tracks show very different sides of that history, from Calibre and Blu Mar Ten’s approach to remixing through to a record like ‘Circles’, which still sounds remarkable nearly 30 years later.”

Re:versal has been digging through more than 100,000 releases in the archive, tracing original DAT masters and overlooked versions for its vinyl series. With REV004, the finds make for a particularly strong selection.
