Burning Man announces Spellbound as official theme for 2027

Burning Man has confirmed Spellbound as the official theme for its upcoming 2027 gathering in Black Rock City. Led by Stuart Mangrum, the organization announced that the new concept centers on the mechanics of enchantment, mythology, and the human relationship with narrative.
The 2027 edition will explore cultural storytelling, digital influence, and the psychology of belief. Organizers note that the temporary metropolis will feature installations dedicated to divination, illusion, and ritual performance, encouraging participants to examine the constructed narratives that shape modern daily life.
Black Rock City operates annually in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, drawing tens of thousands of participants who construct a temporary community focused on self-expression, art, and communal effort.
The event takes place in the summer of 2027.
