Satēlite Records has welcomed UK-based duo Kakura to its catalog with the release of ‘Kantara’, a four-track EP exploring the balance between organic rhythm, melodic depth, and hypnotic groove.
Formed by life partners, Kakura approach production through a shared creative language shaped by contrast and connection. The title track, ‘Kantara’, draws inspiration from the idea of a mystical forest, pairing organic textures with a vocal-led hook and a driving groove aimed at peak-time dancefloor moments.
Its companion piece, ‘Sangam’, takes a more introspective direction. Built around subtle progression and deep atmospheric textures, the track unfolds gradually, favoring restraint and immersion over intensity.
The release is completed by two remixes that expand the EP’s sonic palette. Alex Galvan’s rework of ‘Kantara’ enhances the original’s melodic and emotional qualities with a stronger low-end presence and evolving synth arrangements, while Andec James reshapes ‘Sangam’ through a minimalist indie dance framework focused on groove, repetition, and nuanced modulation.
