Sting has unveiled ‘Desert Rose Reimagined’, a new EP built around fresh interpretations of his track ‘Desert Rose’. The release includes three remixes alongside extended versions, bringing together a selection of electronic artists.
Among the contributors, Bedouin deliver a new version of the track, reworking its structure with a focus on deep house and downtempo rhythms while maintaining the original’s melodic identity. The duo introduces additional Middle Eastern elements, expanding the track’s sonic direction. Also featured is Zakes Bantwini, who presents a rhythm-driven reinterpretation, while Darque adds a South African influence to his remix.
Originally created with Algerian composer Cheb Raba and featuring Cheb Mami, ‘Desert Rose’ became one of Sting’s most recognized works, combining Arabic influences with Western production. The track achieved international chart success and remains a key part of his catalog.
The release arrives alongside a busy period for Bedouin ahead of upcoming performances, including Coachella and their ongoing SAGA residency series, which is set to land at London’s KOKO in May.
