Vitalic celebrates 20 years of his debut album ‘OK Cowboy’ with a special anniversary reissue, out now via Citizen Records. Originally released in 2005, the new edition includes rare tracks and a previously unreleased version, available on double vinyl, CD, digital, and as a box set on December 5th.
Emerging from Dijon in the early 2000s, Vitalic helped define a new wave of French electronic music with a sound that was raw, electro-driven, and rock-leaning. His 2001 breakout ‘Poney EP’—featuring the club anthem ‘La Rock 01’—set the tone for ‘OK Cowboy’, a debut album packed with distorted synths, pounding rhythms, and robotic vocals.
The record includes standouts like ‘My Friend Dario’, ‘No Fun’, and ‘Newman’, and explores a wide palette from cinematic electronics to retrofuturist experiments.
